Taipei Cultural Foundation

Taipei Cultural Foundation, founded in June 1985, is a non profit organization which was established by the private sector and the government. The mission of Taipei Cultural Foundation is to develop art and culture of Taipei city for the next 20 years. Under the participation and supervision of the government, Taipei Cultural Foundation pays closed attention to publicity of cultural activities and availability to citizens.

Taipei Cultural Foundation holds experiences of international art and cultural activities through the collaboration of government and NGOs. These activities are so innovative they can significantly improve the development of art and culture of this city. From 1997, the organization has collaborated with the Taipei City Government to hold "Taipei Arts Festival" by inviting local and foreign artists to have different art activities for the development of art. It not only broadens the view of citizens in Taipei , but also offers opportunity for local artists to learn from each other. "Taipei Arts Festival" has become a symbolic art activities occurring in Taipei . Taipei Cultural Foundation also participates in the program " Taipei Film Festival", "Taipei Lantern Festival" and "Hakka Cultural Festival" in order to have different festivals for holidays simultaneously displaying the complexity of cultural abundance of city life. It also holds "Taipei Film Awards" and "Taipei Literature Awards" to reward creativity.
