Michael's creative ambition threads the boundaries of art and design. As a multi-disciplinary artist, He often create media installations and interventions. His approach explores communication potential of image and language in relation to media and architecture. Positioning himself as a stranger and a traveler, the motivation behind his art is to communicate and resolve shifts. Shifts are condition where his understanding of self and the world becomes destabilized from his experiences with the world he comes in contact with. He regard his works as dialogues- systems of inquiry that he set up to contest ones understanding of the familiar, questioning notions of being and belonging to resolve the shifts. His works have been shown in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, U.S.A., U.K. and Vietnam. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and serve as a part time faculty in Media Arts at Lasalle-SIA College for the Arts, Singapore.
